She had read this book before, from our local library and wanted it to be part of her permanent collection. The year Ana "becomes a woman", as her Mexican tradition puts it, is a delightful read that will probably bring back memories of our own transformations, the hopes and fears and agonies and insecurity that accompany the miracle of finding out who we are and who we are becoming.
